Clear glass allows light to pass through unimpeded, while gold and cobalt blue spheres are infused with special colorants or finished with metallic coatings. The mirror-like surface of gilded balls reflects light across the space, and the deeply saturated cobalt blue pieces create soft, atmospheric shadows.
